Review ~ 100 entries so far

So near yet so far. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Since 25th. February 2009 or accurately when I turned 25 years old, I start my blogging 'career'. Till now, about 8 months, I've written about 100 entries. Alhamdulillah~

Here and there. Everywhere and nowhere. Every single scope and perspective I've let my imagination run wild. From the field of sports to the stage of performance & arts entertainment, via politics and sarcastic world also through truthful religious views and so on.


And so it goes, I've met what we can conclude as true friends or real threats. Furthermore, the excitement is parallel with my activeness in social networking that we call Facebook. Some of them really supportive in whatever condition or story I would tell right now, right here. Also somebody might be really hate this blog. (Really?? Alaa.. blog Azwan Ali pun ramai yang suka. Ada aku kisah? Haha)

Still I can't deny that sometimes I feel give up in proceeding this blog even the expectation from them getting higher than before. Yeah~ there is a real challenge to come up with something new and fresh. I must think till the end of mind. Blogging is just a hobby NOT a career. But the responsible is quite same as my full-time job! Haha.


It's simple but complicated. It's nice but horrible. It's exist but always disappear. When we start a new journey, we bring everything that we think we need it. On the way reaching there, we left something that we need so much. By hook or by crook, we must get it. For example, listening to your favourite music along the road. Yeah.. you get it right? Blog is my music!

And my soul plus my goal is the final destination. When we end up the journey at a junction, we have to make a wise decision. Choices are in our hands to think wisely. Think within the box AND outside the box. We need both. Lack of focus will ruin and destroy everything that you have built so far. Concentration is needed. Seek some guidance from those who are mature enough to talk about next destination.

Rebirth or reborn ?

Today, 14th October, is her birthday. What should I gave her. I am right here in KL while she is a Borneo girl on an island. This long distance relationship quite challenging. We need patience, consideration, relevance and whatever it takes to keep holding on.

Yet, in the end, we just keep holding on Allah. Hopefully, someday, we are officially in a legal relationship. I wanna build a happy family with her. Insya allah. Hopefully everything will run smoothly as we planned. Happy birthday dear... I miss you. See you soon and get your present from me. Hugs of love. Daa~

Rebirth or reborn ? Rebirth with new phases of life, or reborn with new life, new person and new agenda. Whatever~ talk to the hands...

Review : Bagan Pinang dibelah 2

Malays proverbs, "Bagai pinang dibelah DUA", meaning that some couple or 2 things that are suitable each other. But this time isn't about BAGAI but BAGAN. What is Bagan? Bagan, refered to Kamus Dewan, meaning erected pillars or columns. From pillar to post and so it goes.

Bagan Pinang by-election featuring TWO candidates. Each from BN and PAS. Right now PR has 15 seats while BN got 20 seats after the assemblyman passed away. So it's important for BN to retain the seats for the good sake of current government. If PR wins, they are 16 people while BN's people lefts 19 due to one speaker from BN is appointed. Narrow majority~


Back to the topic, yeah~ Finally... after several loses in by-election, BN got new hopes. They won Bagan Pinang by-election plus with majority added. ISA is still relevant?? Is it?? Not ISA that detained guilty and innocent people maa.. ~Tan Sri ISA Samad!


He was Negeri Sembilan's MB. So congrates to him and BN. BN got back the trust from people especially the Indians. In a nut shell, all this while, when by-election occur, the status-quo still remained. So, let's see.. what will happened to the states when current MB and ex-MB in the same hall. Politics... so sarcastic. Is it their strategy??? TEET!



For PR, they need this lose. For check and balance. Don't feel the safe zone. Sooner or later you also can be kicked out by the people if you do not perform well within this 4 to 5 years. Plus, the campaign is not approachable. Really??

Review : Papadom - Papa has done WELL~

Finally, I got the tickets. The day after I watched Jin Notti. It's rather different when we come with full of hope and high expectation. I used to banned film from certain directors and producers due to its disappointment after finished watching the film.

But this time, I felt so relief as I finished watching this film. It's worth to watch this award-winning film. Papadom bagged 5 awards during Malaysia Film Festival recently including Best Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Original Story and Best Music Score (by Pacai).

The story is about a father or papa named Sa'adom who are really busy with his business. He entrepreneurs PAPADOM, some kind of food that we add on Nasi Kandar especially. As time goes by, he always neglected his family; his loyal wife, Mun played by Noorkhiriah and the one and only daughter they have, Miasara, that played by Liyana Jasmay.

But, during Miasara's 10 th birthday, a tragedy happened. Both Mun and Mia involved in accident. Mun was dead. (the question is, we can't see what happened to Mia, so I assumed that Mia was safe). So, Sa'adom became a single parent upbringing Miasara. From a workaholic person who always keep his hands free from Mia, Sa'adom became a serious and too protective father.

All of them acted well in this film as a happy family. And I think that's why Afdlin once again crowned as Best Actors while LJ won Best Actress for the first time. All this while, we always catch LJ as a problematic girls BUT this time we can feel her feeling for being a daughter that has a nosy and so protective father who always accompany her everywhere, here and there that made her really uncomfortable. Her eager to taste the freedom is so realistic.

She has a best friend, Yvonne (played by Chelsia Ng) where she can share her secrets, problems and feelings. Their dreams to further studies outside Penang. And when the dreams come true, she felt in love with a guy then she abandoned her best friend. Why haa? That's always happen to girl??? TEET~

Whilst, Noorkhiriah who played Miasara's mother act successfully besides Que Haidar also played a nurd guy who admired Mia. As we know, Que also another actor who always in BAD and MISCHIEVOUS character. That's why both of them got nomination despite both of them didn't win the awards. Mun's character and feature is quite similar with Cat Farish in Jin Notti. Only Sa'adom could see and interact with her. I also quite impressed with Scha's character. Her grudge, revenge and kept me felt annoying. She is so feasible as Shasha.

There's always something that distracted me along any movies that I watched. For example, in this movie, I am quite distracted with Prof. Balqis, even the character was played by grade A actress, Vanida Imran.

Overall, this is a 'NEW' style film from Afdlin. Why?? Because this time Afdlin worked with new 'faces' like Liyana Jasmay, Que Haidar and Farid Kamil. No more Hans Isaac, Awie, AC, Patrick Teoh and etc. The familiar face that we can trace is just Harun Salim Bachik. Haha.

Along this film that took duration about 1 hour and 55 minutes, I kept questioning myself; Why Papadom beats Talentime to be the Best Film. For me, Talentime's storyline is more interesting. Papadom's is quite cliche about father-daughter problem but the way Afdlin arranged the plot plus with charismatic and well-known actors, that's why this film got an advantage. Furthermore it's so hilarious! I bet you will laugh throughout the movie and at the same time tears will drop unintentionally.

Review : Jin Notti - Fantasy yet reality

As stated before, in this blog early of this month, I will give my review on this film, Papadom. Yet, my schedule is very packed with a lot of activities and so time constraining. I met some difficulties in finding cinemas that have released Papadom via wide screen.

Eventually, I just had TWO choices. Either Jin Notti or Momok The Movie. Luckily, Jin Notti is chosen. Not because of Mawi. Neither Farah Fauzana. This is another film produced by the siblings, KRU. But Yusry is not the director. Azhari Zain had given a chance by the trios to direct this movie.


I chose this film because of the theme. Fantasy. When reality meets fantasy. Futhermore, Mawi is the King sensation from fantasy mainstream. So far, I can't find this type of story or any similiarity from this movie in any dramas on TV. The story-line is quite unique, plus the CGI elements are very impressive.

Well done! I got the feeling. I felt that I was part and parcel of the genie's world. The quote; the worst human in the world is at the same level with the most pious genie. (Sejahat-jahat manusia itu sebaik-baik jin). And the story begins.

Notti, a female genie plays by FF. The character is not so challenging but Farah still can give her emotion. I can feel how was to be blamed and waiting for the punishment. Even Notti is a good genie but Notti was sentenced to 'death'. Death means to become human forever.

For three times Notti had a chance being and acting as human in three different characters. There, in the world she met Ajiz (featuring Mawi as his debut acting) for three times at three different places.

Mawi's acting quite stiff but can be improved from time to time. Mawi did the battle scene by himself and it's proven that Mawi can be a future Malay hero with full of charisma especially in Silat and reciting Al-Quran.

The chemistry between Mawi and Fafau is good but not perfect. The most annoying person in the movie of coz lah Jinbara that acted by Cat Farish. The most annoying moment is when he "correct" his stomach and smell it. Yuck! And the impressive character and still remained in my mind is Indian Lawyer that played by Betty Banafe.

Overall, it's a fun movie. It's worth to watch at cinema because you can't watch this fantasy movie abaout genie in any dramas on TV.

Review = Muhasabah

First & foremost, what is a review? Review got 'RE' at its initiall; meaning we must make another view. What is view?

View can be defined as an opinion or way of thinking about something. View also meaning the ability to see sumthing. Else, view also can be used in terms of what you can see from a particular place, especially beautiful scenery.

So REview.. we do it once again?? Is it?? Yes! We do it once again. Either looking back or thinking again. BUT in context of what do you want to share about a new book, film, songs, albums including thetere performance, games and etc. so we named it a REVIEW.

This week, I want to make a review about what happens around us. It goes arounds us and comes around. Back to back! Over and over again!
Tsunami + Ketsana + Earthquake = Signs of QIAMAT! It is a small sign!


Samoa island and Tonga hitted by Tsunami. About 164 number of deaths were recorded. About 16 peoples is still missing. A powerful magnitude 8.0 earthquakes had making a strong 'wave' as frontpage news headline.


While at Indonesia, quakes happened once again. Twice a day. This time at Padang. The number of victims exceed 1000 peoples. The quake damaged houses and bridges, and caused fires in the city of Padang in Sumatra. Despite their arrogance towards us, we as Malaysian and absolutely human beings with widely open arms willing to forget the confrontation. We felt sad and send our condolence. Hopefully, with sending a message of condolence, everything will be fined back as before.



Last but not least, Ketsana is a kind of typhoon, storm or hurricane that happened this week. Started from end of September till early October 2009. Ketrina hits Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and the Philippines. It is one of the most destructive storms in years that extended the deadly path across South-East Asia.



Think for a moment~ Malaysia is safe. Malaysian must be grateful. Thanks to Allah. This tragedy is a review for us. Review it. Judge ourself and thnik till the end of mind. What happen next and what are the outcomes?

Judge ourself.. evaluate ourself before we will be judeged/evaluated. Haasibuu anfusakum qabla an tuhaasabuu~ What you see.. is what you will get. So, think deeply and act wisely in whatever condition or decision we wanna choose. Life is full of choices, is up to you then~ Daa

Review = October

Hopefully, when I declare this month of October is a review month, everything will come & go smoothly. Due to time constraint, I'll make sure that it is short, simple & sweet! Haha.
